Brief about the Program (Activity/ Event details)The Hematology CME and Postgraduate Quiz was held on 15th November 2025 on occasion of “International Pathology Day” at Sushrut Hall, TTI Building, MUHS, Nashik, beginning with breakfast and registration from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. The formal programme started at 9:30 am with a welcome address by Dr. Rajendra Chaudhari Sir, highlighting the importance of continuous medical education in Hematology. The first academic lecture commenced at 9:45 am, where Dr. Siddhesh Kalantri Sir (D.M. Clin. Haematology), who explained thrombocytopenia in ICU patients and key aspects of nutritional anemia. A question-and-answer session from 10:45 am to 11:00 am encouraged active participation from the attendees. This was followed by a lecture from 11:00 am to 11:30 am by Mr. Rahul Mahajan (Kaizen Enterprizes) discussed point-of-care instruments and their growing role in clinical practice. A tea break was arranged from 11:30 am to 11:45 am, allowing informal interaction among faculty and students. Session II began at 11:45 am with an interactive postgraduate quiz conducted by Dr. Sampatti Nerkar ma’am, where PG students competed enthusiastically. The quiz continued until 12:30 pm, showcasing strong academic engagement and quick clinical reasoning skills. A prize distribution ceremony for PG quiz with Trophy, medal and certificates followed from 12:30 pm to 12:45 pm, appreciating the efforts and excellence of the participants. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Archana Patil ma’am from 12:45 pm to 1:00 pm, expressing gratitude toward all speakers, organizers, and attendees. The CME proved to be an enriching academic event that fostered learning, collaboration, and motivation among postgraduate students.

1. Objective of the Program

The Hematology CME & PG Quiz was conducted with the purpose of strengthening academic enrichment and diagnostic proficiency among postgraduate trainees and faculty members. The key objectives included:

  • Enhancing diagnostic and interpretative skills
  • Reinforcing clinical–laboratory correlation
  • Promoting interactive, case-based learning
  • Assessing postgraduate competency through structured academic competition

3. Program Overview

The event commenced at 8:30 AM with participant registration, followed by an inaugural address by the organizing team. The academic sessions included expert lectures covering essential updates in diagnostic hematology, interpretation of laboratory findings, and emerging evidence-based practices.
The second half of the program featured the Postgraduate Quiz, designed to assess knowledge, promote teamwork, and encourage competitive academic spirit.

  • A highly engaging and informative academic session was delivered by renowned hematologist Dr. Siddhesh Kalantri, focusing on current advances, diagnostic challenges, and clinical applications in hematology.

5. Conclusion

The Hematology CME & PG Quiz was conducted successfully, achieving all intended objectives by promoting academic growth, diagnostic precision, and interactive learning among participants. The program received positive feedback, and participants expressed interest in more such academic initiatives in the future.
