1.Knowledge
The student should have knowledge of:
- Common Eye problems
- Management of ophthalmic emergencies
- Ophthalmic side effects of commonly used drugs
- Magnitude of blindness in India and its main causes;
- Blindness control programs and its implementation
- The eye bank.
2.Skills
The student should be able to:
- Diagnose and treat common eye problems
- Do visual acuity testing, examination of eye, tonometry, confrontation test, perimetry, direct ophthalmoscopy.
- Assist/observe therapeutic procedures
- To motivate people for eye donation.
3.Integration
An integrated approach towards other disciplines.
